PAINT

The majority of the wall surfaces in your home are painted. Modest maintenance will help painted surfaces last.

•Exterior Doors: Check the finish on your exterior doors several times a year. If you notice that the finish is beginning to crack or peel, refinish the door promptly. Inspect the weatherstripping on exterior doors frequently.

•Exterior Finishes: Inspect the exterior finishes regularly. If you find cracking or peeling of the paint, sand the area and repaint it promptly. Do not allow sprinklers to spray your home's exterior surfaces.

 •Interior finishes: Most of your walls and ceilings are painted with a flat paint. Your kitchen, bathrooms, wood trim, and interior doors are painted with an enamal paint.

•The walls in your home are textured for beauty and style. The texture is relatively soft and can be damaged by scrubbing with abrasive cleansers and rough brushes. Touch-up painting is preferred to scrubbing at smudges.
