TERMITES

Prior to construction, the soil under your home was treated with a barrier against subterranean termites. However, it is important to be constantly alert and check your home inside and out for the first signs of termite infestation.

•Regularly inspect the perimeter of your home for telltale mud tunnels.

•If tunnels are found, call the termite company who issued the warranty immediately.

•Avoid any direct wood-to-earth contact especially with fences, lanais, or future additions.

•Don't plant landscaping in contact with your home. Leave at least one foot between plants and exterior walls.

•Watch for standing water or damp areas in contact with your home, and when you water plants avoid getting water on the house or against the foundations. Termites are attracted by dampness.

•Watch for sand-like droppings from dry wood termites in doorways, closets, or under sinks.
