Castle & Cooke Waikoloa, LLC called upon Frank
Kawaikapuokalani Hewett, noted Hawaiian historian and kumu hula, to name our
future community in Waikoloa Village. A blend of cultural insight and observation
during his site visit established the foundation for our community name of
Wehilani at Waikoloa.
Wehilani ("heavenly adornments") is derived from the abundance of uluwehi o ka
'aina ("many adornments to the land") as the site exudes an overwhelming presence
of life and growth in each plant, flower and leaf within the area. It is also
symbolic of the vision of this community, a place for island families to grow,
friendships to develop and opportunities to create legacies for generations to
come.
The following provides preliminary information on the Wehilani at Waikoloa
community. Check back to our web site often for updated information.

The following variances were approved under the PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT PERMIT NO. 72 (PUD 04-02). |

Community entry feature that promotes a strong sense of place. |

Soft landscaped roadway shoulders for traffic-calming to further enhance the community’s pedestrian-friendly environment. |

In addition to belonging to the Waikoloa Village Association, Wehilani at Waikoloa homeowners formed their own sub-association to maintain amenities that
are exclusive to Wehilani homeowners. |

Sidewalks and walkways are planned to provide connectivity and walking paths for our homeowners. |
